About Kevin Rader
Representative Kevin Rader was elected to the Florida State House of Representatives in District 78 and is serving his first term in office.
District 78 is mostly in Palm Beach County and encompasses most of the western areas of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach. District 78
also includes parts of St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Martin counties.
Representative Rader sits on the following committees and councils: Joint Legislative Sunset Committee, PreK-12 Policy Committee, General Government
Policy Council and Insurance, Business, & Financial Affairs Policy Committee.
Representative Rader is a partner in Advanced Insurance Underwriters, an insurance agency based in Hollywood, which has 8 offices throughout the
state and is ranked by the South Florida Business Journal as the 5thlargest. Representative Rader was appointed to the
Florida Self-Insureds Guaranty Association, by then Florida Chief Financial
Officer Tom Gallagher and re-appointed by current Chief Financial Officer
Alex Sink. Representative Rader is active in the Florida Association of
Insurance Agents and Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and
has attended many events including legislative lobbying in Tallahassee and
Washington DC, Planning Session, annual conventions, Young Agents Council,
and Elite Sales Training. In the business community, Representative Rader
is a member of Builders Association of South Florida, Association of
Builders and Contractors and Urban Land Institute.
Representative Rader participates in many public service and philanthropic
activities. He is a member of B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, where
his wife, Amy, is a Rabbi. Representative Rader is active in many aspects
of the South Palm Beach County Jewish Federation. In addition,
Representative Rader is on the board of the Metro Division of the
Federation, and has been a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council
for many years. Representative Rader has undergone training through the
Glass Leadership Institute of the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and the New
Leadership Network of the American Israel Political Action Committee (AIPAC)
of which he is an active member. Representative Rader has also served
as aboard member of Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach. Representative
Rader has
been a sponsor and coach of the I9 and Boca Raton Youth Athletic Association
children’s sports leagues and has been a volunteer in many local charities,
including but not limited to, the Caring Kitchen in Delray Beach, the SOS
Children’s Village in Coconut Creek and the Jewish Association for
Residential Care.
Also, Representative Rader has been active with many Democratic campaigns
both locally, statewide and nationally. Representative Rader worked on
the Clinton/Gore Campaign in the state of Michigan in 1992 and in President
Clinton's inauguration afterwards. Representative Rader has been a strong
supporter for Congressmen Ron Klein, Robert Wexler and Tim Mahoney, Chief
Financial Officer Alex Sink and many other Democratic campaigns.
Representative Rader is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and
was raised in Hollywood, Miami and Orlando where he went to public school
for 13 years graduating from Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs,
Florida. Representative Rader moved to Palm Beach County in 1999 and is
inspired by his wife Amy and his 4 children, Caleb, Ruby, Yael and Ezra.
